KARACHI, Nov 27: An anti-privatisation forum has condemned the government’s privatisation policy and said it was against national interests.
It appealed to political parties, trade unions, intellectuals and political workers to launch a movement at the national level to block privatisation process.
The Anti-Privatisation and Peoples Rights Forum which met at the residence of prominent politician Yusuf Masti Khan on Monday, also appealed to the Supreme Court to play its role to stop privatisation. It also urged the SC to take suo motu notice of alleged corruption committed in the privatisation of industrial units.
The meeting presided over by Afif Alvi, decided to stage a rally on Dec 16 against privatisation and formed a committee under Rahil Iqbal to make preparations for the protest.—Staff Reporter
