Police raid villages to rescue kidnapped men

KHAIRPUR, Nov 21: Police on Monday and Tuesday conducted raids on some villages for recovery of Noor Mohammad Khuhro and Sher Mohammad Khuhro who had been kidnapped near Bahram Khuhro village some three days ago in two separate incidents.

The villages raided by police are: Kuttai Narejo, Lundro, Toori, Jafar Narejo and others.

During the raids police conducted house-to-house search.

Police sources said that the villages were raided on information about presence of kidnap victims in the villages.

The Gambat DSP said that bandit Nang Narejo was suspected to be the kidnapper of the two villagers.

He claimed the bandit was hiding in the area.

Police arrested ten villagers for interrogation.

They were identified as Ali Gul Narejo, Ghulam Nabi, Gul Mohammad, Kaloo Narejo and Shafi Mohammad.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Graduates Association and the Sindhi Adabi Sangat held a meeting on Tuesday.

The participants condemned police failure to recover kidnapped landlord Mohib Ali Bozdar and his associate Jumo Bhatti who had been kidnapped on September 15.

MEGHWAR CONVENTION: A convention of the Meghwar community was held in Kotdiji on Monday night.

The convention elected Hari Chand Das as Mukhi of the Khairpur district and Mukhis for eight talukas of the district were also elected.
