PESHAWAR, Nov 18: Police probing the incident of Friday suicide bombing suspected that the explosive was smuggled from Afghanistan, an official said. "We have sent samples from the explosive materials used by the bomber. The result would be made available within a week," said an official, adding that most of the explosives used in terrorism-related activities were of Indian or Russian make and were smuggled to Pakistan via Afghanistan.

At this stage, we do not consider doing DNA test of the alleged suicide bomber because his family had accepted that it was Nadeem Khan son of Zameen Khan of Pishtakhara village.

According to preliminary findings, official said that he was not a well-trained suicide bomber, because the explosive material was not wrapped to his body.

Suicide bombers do have a belt which they use to wrap explosives around their body, he said.

The official said that they were facing problems in investigating crimes because of shortage of personnel, chemicals and equipment.

He said that four years ago the Asian Development Bank had approved a loan of Rs90 million to strengthen the investigation department of the police, but the amount was diverted to establishment of offices for investigation purposes at the district level.
