GUJRANWALA, Nov 14: The provincial highways department has approached a local court to get over four canals of its precious land along the GT Road vacated from an influential group after the administration and police did not entertain its request.
Highways district officer (road) filed a private complaint with the district and sessions judge against Imran Sheikh for grabbing four kanals and 13 marlas land worth millions. The court sought a detailed report from the Dhulley SHO within a fortnight.
Complainant Muhammad Abdullah told the court that when the accused started constructing a boundary wall on the highway land, he informed the SHO concerned through an application on Nov 7 but police did not register the case.
He said DPO Mian Muhammad Asif and other high-ups were also approached but to no avail.
