JALALABAD, Nov 13: Police killed one of hundreds of demonstrators who blocked a key road from Afghanistan to Pakistan on Monday in a protest linked to a months-old land dispute, an official said.

Two others were wounded when police opened fire to control the angry mob that obstructed the highway in eastern Nangarhar province to demand the return of five men abducted as part of the dispute, a deputy governor said.—AFP/Reuters
