SAHIWAL, Feb 15: Railway authorities continued the demolition of kutcha houses on the Railway Colony here on Friday.
Divisional railway authorities said that 1,500 kutcha houses would be demolished by Feb 16 on the federal government’s orders to remove encroachments from the railway land across the country.
It is learnt the Railway IGP has ordered a probe into the clash between dwellers of kutcha abadi and the railway police in which two persons had sustained serious injuries.
Affected dwellers have however demanded an inquiry by a high court judge into the demolition of their houses and looting of their valuables by government functionaries.
