KARACHI: 358 water schemes completed

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: As many as 358 drinking water supply schemes have so far been completed in NWFP during the last four years, provincial Minis-ter for Rural Health and Local Government Sardar Muhammad Idrees said on Tueday.

Speaking in a PTV programme, he said Rs1.5 billion had been allocated for providing clean drinking water to Abbottabad.

Under a phased programme rusty pipelines were being replaced and installation of filtration plants would be completed in the province till the end of year 2007, he said.

Feasibility was being prepared to provide clean drinking water facility to Peshawar from the Warsak dam, he added.—APP
