LAHORE, Oct 29: Five people, including a passerby, were injured in a clash between two rival groups in the Gujjarpura area on Sunday morning.
Shakeel and Babar, sons of slain woman councillor Ulfat Shahzadi, held an exchange of fire with the rival Akmal group at Singhpura Chowk in Younaspura locality to settle the score of their mother’s murder.
The Gujjarpura police investigation officer said both the brothers had invited Akmal and Ajmal for talks which converted into a heated argument. Later, they opened fire on Akmal and Ajmal which was retaliated by the latter. In the crossfire, Akmal, Ajmal, Shakeel, Babar and a passerby, Amjad, sustained injuries.
The police have registered a case against Shakeel, Babar, Akmal, Ajmal and their five accomplices.
Ulfat Shahzadi was killed and four other family members injured allegedly by Rasheed, Rauf, Ejaz, Akmal, Ajmal and Saleem over a dispute of a 2.5-marla house on Sept 23.
MURDERED: A teenaged boy was found murdered in mysterious circumstances in the Lorry Adda area on Sunday.
Police said Shahzad, 14, returned from Sheikhupura on Friday after celebrating Eid. He left for work on Saturday, but did not return to his rented place.
The police suspected that he had been killed after being sodomised, but the exact cause of his death would be ascertained after autopsy.
The police have registered a case against unidentified accused on the compliant of his father Asghar.
