NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 27: Standing crops of cotton and onion and mango and lemon orchards on about 100 acres were flooded after Khan Wahan minor developed a 24 foot breach near Abbas Gonder village on Friday.
People were trying to plug the breach on their own when the irrigation staff reached their village after several hours and could help by closing the minor.
The villagers, Amanullah Gonder, Nek Mohammad and Khalid, held the irrigation officials responsible for the breach, which they said had occurred at the same place last year as well.
