RAWALPINDI: Man crushed to death by truck

RAWALPINDI, Oct 18: A man was killed after being run over by a truck in Ganjmandi area on Wednesday, police said.

Imran Khan, told the police that his uncle, Jumma Khan, was standing on the footrest of a truck when he lost his balance and was crushed to death under the wheels. The truck was impounded by the police.

BODY FOUND: Golra police found body of a middle-aged man lying abandoned in the fields on Thursday, the police said.

Some passers-by spotted the body and informed the police, who shifted the body to Pims for postmortem.

The police said the unidentified man, apparently in his 40s, had been strangulated, as there were marks around his neck.

MOTORCYCLES STOLEN: Two motorcycles were stolen from different city areas on Wednesday, the police said.

Salahuddin, a resident of Aananand Pura, lodged an FIR with the Civil Line police, saying he had parked his motorcycle (RIH- 2166) outside his house. After some time, when he came out his found his bike missing.

In the other incident, Waqas Jan’s motorcycle (RIW-2828) was lifted from D-Block, Satellite Town.
