LAHORE, Oct 18: The Lahore High Court chief justice on Wednesday sent two DSPs and a sub-inspector of Kasur police to jail on contempt of court. Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry also ordered police to keep the accused policemen in the Lahore District Jail and produce them before the court on Oct 20.
The court issued these orders on a contempt of court petition filed by Muhammad Ajmal for initiation of contempt proceedings against Kasur DSPs (legal) Malik Abdul Qayyum and Naseer Ahmad and SI Bashir Hussain.
Giving an opportunity to the accused to defend themselves, the court appointed Punjab additional advocate general Malik Zafar Iqbal Awan prosecutor in the case. —APP
