ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: Speakers at ‘Shahadat-i-Hazrat Ali (AS) Conference’ on Friday stressed the need to follow teachings and Seerat-i-Hazrat Ali (AS) for better societal system in order to curb favouritism and prejudice in the society.
The conference was organised by Markazi Imam Hussain Council in connection with Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (AS).
The conference was attended by Minister for Environment Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat who was the chief guest, Adviser to Prime Minister Farhat Aziz Mazari, Parliamentary Secretary Education Dewan Syed Jaffer Hussain Bukhari, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mashallah Shakiri, Gen (retired) Hameed Gul, Air Vice Martial (retired) Syed Qaisar Hussain, Vice President Pakistan Awami Tehrik Agha Murtaza Poya, Sajjada Nasheen Golra Sharif Pir Syed Naseeruddin Naseer and people from various schools of thought.
In a unanimous resolution passed in the conference, it was stressed that everyone should play their role to curb sectarianism, extremism and terrorism for a peaceful Pakistan.
It called upon the ulema of the various schools of thought to play their due role to ensure an atmosphere that is peaceful and free of prejudice.
Speaking on the occasion, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat stressed the need to follow the Seerat and teachings of Hazrat Ali (AS) in true letter and spirit.
He paid rich tributes to Hazrat Ali (AS) saying that there was no other personality that could be compared with him in knowledge, wisdom and bravery.
He said history would ever remember the two days, Rajab 13, the birthday of Hazrat Ali (AS) in Khana-i-Kaaba, and Ramazan 21, the day Hazrat Ali (AS) was martyred in mosque.
He called upon masses to follow the teachings of Hazrat Ali in order to get success in mundane and the doomsday.
Gen (retired) Hameed Gul said martyrdom was the distinction of Ahle-Bait.
He said they had tendered sacrifices for the real cause of Islam whenever it was threatened by any void power.
Commenting on the current situation of the Muslim world, he said today we could see two characters, one of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) who offered every sacrifice and the other of Yazeed, who posed a threat to Islam in those days.
Gen Hameed Gul said in today’s scenario we can see clash of civilisations under the pretence of which America attacked Afghanistan and Iraq by killing thousands of innocent people.
Terming the State of Israel as Bab-i-Khyber, he said today there was need of Bazo-i-Haider to wipe out the Bab-i-Khyber of the day (Israel) in order to bring peace in the world.
“Until and unless the Jewish were the occupants of our sacred place Al-Quds no peace would be restored in the world,” he added.
He also appreciated Hizbollah and its chief Hassan Nasrallah for achieving a great victory against Israel.
Air Vice Martial (retired) Syed Qaisar Hussain said after studying the life of Hazrat Ali (AS), one could easily come to the conclusion that he was a great decision maker and well planner during Jihads.
Agha Murtaza Poya underscored various aspects of the life of Hazrat Ali (AS) saying that he always fought for the cause of Islam and the oppressed people irrespective of their religion.
Pir Syed Naseeruddin Naseer enthralled the audience with his poetry and highlighted various achievements of Hazrat Ali (AS) in various Islamic battles.
Farhat Aziz Mazari, Ghazanfer Mehdi, Ihsan Kebreya, Iqbal Kokab Advocate and Syed Mohammad Ali Wasti also paid their tributes to Hazrat Ali (AS).—PPI
