QUETTA, Oct 11: The Supreme Court has directed the prosecutor-general of the National Accountability Bureau to present the record pertaining to an agreement about distribution of 3,197 acres of land in Gwadar.

A two-member bench, comprising Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, issued the notice to the NAB prosecutor- general on a petition filed by a woman, Zahra Bibi.

She has stated that her land was acquired by the government for the forest department without her consent and the Balochistan chief minister promised to provide alternative land but so far no land has been allotted to her.

The counsel for the Board of Revenue informed the court that through an agreement reached at the instance of the NAB, about 3,197 acres of land was given to 94 applicants in Gwadar.

The court directed the NAB prosecutor-general to appear before it on October 16 with the record of land rights/settlements carried out from 1976 to 1996.
