KARACHI: 2 teams to probe double murder

KARACHI, Oct 10: The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Karachi, Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui, formed two separate teams for the early arrest of killers of a trader and his son, and dismissed the staff of the nearby police post.

He issued these orders during a visit to the site of the incident in Babar Market, Landhi, where the trader and his son were gunned down during a robbery.

Speaking on the occasion, the CCPO assured that the criminals involved in the double murder would soon be arrested and taken to task. He asked the traders of Babar Market to conduct their business activities as usual and assured them security of their lives and properties.

Meanwhile, the CCPO visited different markets and areas of Gulberg Town.

He inquired about the security arrangements from traders and citizens and also sought recommendations from them. Gulberg Town Nazim Maud Ahmed, elected representatives, town and police officials were also present.

On public complaints, he directed the traffic police authorities for not allowing rickshaws to enter the markets of the area. He also paid a visit to different areas and markets of Liaquatabad Town to review police security arrangements. Town administration and police officials were also present.

Meanwhile, the CCPO visited police camps established throughout the city. He dismissed Inspector Ali Hassan of Shah Latif PS and ASI Rizwan of Sharea Faisal PS on public complaints of corruption and misuse of powers.—PPI
