Rs373.6m being spent on dams

QUETTA, Oct 9: The government has allocated Rs373.6 million for construction of small and medium dams in the province, sources said on Monday.

The Sawar Kaur dam would cost Rs100.3 million of which Rs68 million had already been spent and the government had allocated Rs5 million for the year 2006-07.

The government had allocated Rs 28.7 million for the construction of Gawal delay action dam near Kohlu town. Rs17 million had been spent and the government had allocated Rs4.5 million for the current fiscal year.

Rs25 million had been allocated for the construction of Sukkan delay action dam of which Rs13.4 million had already been spent and the government has allocated Rs1.2 million for the current fiscal year.

Rs13 million had been spent on the Rs20.7 million Nondow delay action dam project in Awaran district and the government had allocated Rs5.517 million for it in the current fiscal year.—APP
