LAHORE, Oct 7: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday awarded death sentence and Rs20,000 fine to a convict for kidnapping for ransom and ordered confiscation of his property.

The court also awarded him 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment.

Iqbal Town police had arrested the convict last year for kidnapping Bhola for ransom and presented the challan before the court.

PLEA DISMISSED: A division bench of the Lahore High Court has dismissed an intra-court appeal of a girl student seeking permission to participate in MA Physical Education Part-II after a gap of 16 years.

The court observed the appellant could not produce any evidence that she was a college student and had passed Part-I of the exam.
