LAHORE, Oct 6: Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal presented reports of the Auditor General of Pakistan on the accounts of Government of the Punjab for the year 2003-04 in the Punjab Assembly on Friday.
The minister also laid the annual report of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) for the year 2004 in the house.
Earlier, Speaker Afzal Sahi advised all the provincial ministers to honour commitments made by them in the house.
He said so while responding to the points of order raised by deputy opposition leader Rana Sanaullah Khan, Arshad Baggu and others during the question hour on Friday.
Rana Sana informed the speaker that he had been assured by the minister concerned that construction work in Madina Colony, Faisalabad, would be taken in hand in three months. He said now 10 months had passed but there seemed no chance of commencement of work. He demanded that the matter should be referred to the assurances committee.
MPA Arshad Baggu was of the view that most of the commitments from the ministers on assembly floor during the past four years remained unfulfilled. He claimed he had proof to support his claim.
Housing minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani said that there might be some genuine reasons which had caused delays.
Responding to an adjournment motion raised by Haji Ijaz, health minister Dr Tahir Ali told the house that medical aid in emergency could not be delayed to meet legal or procedural formalities.
He said he had sought a report from the medical superintendent of the Services Hospital regarding Khadija Yousuf who was allegedly denied medical aid. He said the hospital record showed that no such patient had visited the hospital on the given date.—APP
