Teachers held for taking bribe

SIALKOT, Oct 3: The Sialkot district monitoring officer on Tuesday caught red-handed two schoolteachers taking Rs1,000 from the headmistress of a girls school.

They posed themselves as members of the Punjab chief minister’s special monitoring team.

They were identified as Sajjad Asif and Mubarak Ali, teachers at the Government Boys Primary School, Bhulla.

Kotli Loharan police have registered a case.

CASES: The anti-corruption establishment has registered corruption cases against police officials.

A case has been registered against Kotwali police sub-inspector Akhtar for taking Rs70,000 from a citizen in a theft case.

A case has been registered against Bambanwala police ASI Zafar Iqbal for extorting Rs5,500 from Sufi Ramzan.

A case has been registered against Begowala police ASI Rana Afzal for taking Rs20,000 from villager Basharat Mehmood.

The ACE has also registered a case against civil lines police SI Irfan Saleem for extorting Rs100,000 in cash from villager Bashir Husain in a theft case.
