Rao Sikandar hospitalized

OKARA, Oct 1: Defence Minister Rao Skinder Iqbal was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital, Okara Cantt, on Sunday after he fell unconscious at his farmhouse in Mazaharabad, Deepalpur.

A family member said the sugar level of Rao, a diabetic, was dangerously low when he was admitted to the CMH in the evening. At 9pm, he said, the minister returned to his senses.

Besides diabetes, he also suffers from kidney and coronary ailments. He remained admitted to the Rawalpindi CMH for 10 days last month. His nephew Rao Yasir Iqbal told Dawn in Lahore that Rao was discharged after a few hours and he was scheduled to go to Islamabad on Monday (today).—Correspondent
