NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Passengers robbed on highway

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Sept 29: Eight armed man robbed a Blue Line passenger coach at Moro Bypass on National Highway late on Thursday night.

The bandits stormed the bus after signalling it to stop. They forced the driver to take it away from the highway and then robbed the passengers of thousands of rupees in cash, mobile phones, jewellery and other belongings.

Frustrated, the passengers blocked the highway by staging a sit-in prompting Naushahro Feroze DPO Irfan Baloch to rush to the scene.

He persuaded them to end the blockade assuring that police would soon arrest the robbers and recover the looted items.

The DPO said that the TPO of Moro was chasing the dacoits with the help of footprints and sniffer dogs. He had also arrested some suspects, he added.

FOUR INJURED: Four motorcyclists sustained injuries in two separate accidents in Bhirya and Kandiaro talukas on Friday.

Mir Mohammad and Ghulam Mustafa Sher of Faiz Ganj suffered wounds when their motorbike was hit by a van near Doli Mori stop.

Bhirya police have arrested the van driver. In the other accident, Khadim Hussain and Shamsuddin Ghanghro sustained injuries when their motorbike rammed into a parked bus on the National Highway near Jam Noorullah village. All the four injured were admitted to taluka hospital, Kandiaro.
