PESHAWAR, Feb 13: NWFP Minister for Education Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani has underlined the importance of coordination between public and private sectors.

The private sector is sharing with the government the burden of providing education facilities to the people of the province and the government is learning from its experiences in many ways, he said, while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Bloomfield Hall School System, Peshawar Branch, on Wednesday.

The minister remarked that there were many areas, where the government could not function alone and it was the private sector that had been “filling such loopholes.”

Appreciating the standard of elite and private sector institutions, he observed that unless most of the students from the public sector schools were included in development efforts, real progress was impossible. He regretted that the students of private institutions considered themselves to be misfit in the society.

Mr Gilani said public speaking, which was the most important aspect of education, was mostly neglected. He called upon the public sector institutions to help their students be good at public speaking.

He described as successful the computer classes’ scheme being implemented with the help of the private sector.

Other speakers included Bloomfield Hall System Director Nadeem Qasir and Principal Ismat Wazir.   The students of the school made speeches and presented national songs and skits.
