PESHAWAR, Sept 26: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has asked Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammed Ejazul Haq to announce a 40 per cent concession in fares of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for intending pilgrims.
In a letter addressed to the federal minister, Mr Durrani said that since most of the intending pilgrims travelled by the PIA, the federal government should announce some relief in air fare for them.
He said if the federal government considered 40 per cent reduction in the PIA fares, it would facilitate thousands of pilgrims.
He said the Indian government had announced a 40 per cent reduction in the Indian Airlines fares for the Muslims intending top perform Haj.
