SIALKOT, Sept 25: Some landlords of an alleged qabza group have threatened a farmer and his family to leave their house at Saahu Chak village without their moveable and immoveable property as a `punishment’ for protesting against them.

Reports said Muhammad Riaz had 14 acres at Saahu Chak-Badiana. Some local landlords, led by Younas Gujar, had forcibly occupied the fertile land.

Mr Riaz told the press that a few days ago, the accused stormed into his house, held hostage all family members at gunpoint and dragged women and children out of the house. He said the accused also beat up some women and minor children as a result of which arms of two women and legs of some children got fractured. The injured were admitted to Pasrur THQ hospital in a critical condition.

He said the alleged outlaws were continuously threatening his family with dire consequences for reporting the matter to police. He said the police had registered a case against the accused, but were not arresting them.

He urged President Gen Pervaiz Musharraf, Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, IGP Ziaul Hassan and other high-ups to provide him justice.

Mr Riaz warned that he along with his family would commit suicide if the accused were not arrested and his land was not retrieved at the earliest..
