CMIT for action against 56 officials

LAHORE, Sept 24: The Chief Minister’s Inspection Team has submitted a report for a disciplinary action against 56 officers and officials of various government departments for irregularities and misuse of powers.

This was stated at a meeting of the team held here on Sunday with provincial minister for CMIT Col Shuja Khanzada (retired) in the chair to review its performance. CMIT chairman Arsalan Ali Khan and secretary Siddiq Akbar Minhas were also present.

The minister was informed that the team received 110 directives from the chief minister, 29 references from the CM’s Secretariat, 47 summaries from different government departments and 23 special assignments for inquiries. It had completed all inquiries and submitted reports for further action. CMIT members had also conducted 23 raids and submitted their reports.

The minister directed the members to ensure completion of all inquiries pending with them and submit reports so that the corrupt elements could be taken to task. He also asked them to monitor Ramazan and Sunday Bazaars to ensure availability of essential commodities to the people at fair prices.
