Prize money increased

KARACHI, Sept 23: The organisers of the 21st Karachi Gymkhana AKD Ramazan Cup on Saturday decided to increase prize money for the tournament which starts from Monday, the first of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

The winners of the tournament will now receive Rs250,000 instead of Rs200,000 that was announced earlier. Likewise, the runners-up will now get Rs125,000 — an increase of Rs25,000.

The losing semi-finalists who were slated to be given Rs20,000 each, will now by richer by a further Rs10,000.

The tournament now carries a total prize money of Rs509,000.

PIA Academy will take on AKD XI in the opening fixture of the 16-team event at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground.—Agencies
