ANP men join PPP-S

PESHAWAR, Sept 23: Provincial general secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), MPA Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, has said that PPP is struggling for the rights of the Pukhtoons and hopes to bring pleasant changes in their lives.

He said that the Pukhtoons had suffered a lot due to the wrong policies of a so-called nationalists which deceived them through hollow slogans. He said this while addressing a public meeting at Union Council Mirza Dher Tehsil Tangi, District Charsadda.

ANP leaders, including Haji Abdur Rashid Khan, Haji Arifullah Khan, Mohammad Munir and Yousaf Mama, announced joining the PPP along with their supporters. They reposed confidence in the leadership of party president Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao. Sikandar Sherpao said that unlike other parties, his party had taken practical steps for the rights of Pukhtoons.

He said that Pukhtoons were the second largest population after Punjab who had always positively contributed towards the development of the country in every sector.

He pointed out that the Munda Dam project, creation of FC platoons establishment of utility stores and provision of electricity, gas and roads would ensure basic needs to the people. Sikandar welcomed the new entrants in the party fold saying that they would give a new lease of life to the party and it would be enabled to serve the people in a befitting manner.—APP
