GUJRANWALA, Sept 22: More than 1,000 telephones went silent in Kamoki when some labourers chopped off the underground cable during digging for a construction work on Friday.

The highway department is widening the GT Road and some labourers working on the project cut the cable of telephone connections. Over 1,000 phones went out of order.

The subscribers protested against the highway department and demanded that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited should restore their connections immediately after laying the new cable.

The PTCL authorities have assured the subscribers of the quickest possible help.
