Electronics worth Rs2.2m stolen

SAHIWAL, Sept 19: Fourteen armed men took away electronics worth Rs2.2 million from the warehouse of a company on the GT Road on Monday night. The gang overpowered watchmen Yunas Masih and Ejaz Ahmad, tied them with a rope and locked in a room. They took away refrigerators, microwave ovens, televisions, airconditioners and other items.

Grain Market police have registered a case.

RECOVERED: A Lahore High Court bailiff recovered a man from illegal custody of police who was arrested on the charge of electricity wire theft.

Sub-Inspector Rao Naseem claimed that he arrested Ghulam Rasool on Sept 4 and registered a case against him.

However, the relatives claimed that Ghulam Rasool’s arrest was registered when they moved the high court.

The Lahore High Court chief justice has asked the Sahiwal district and sessions judge to conduct an inquiry and file a report.
