PESHAWAR, Sept 17: The Peshawar High Court has promoted 59 judicial officers to the next grade and transferred 83 officers across the province on Thursday night.

Four different notifications were issued by the high court’s registrar, Sher Shah Khan, announcing the promotions of officers on the recommendations of the administration committee and transfers and postings.

Nine additional district and sessions judges were promoted to the post of district and sessions judges in BPS-20. The promoted additional district and sessions judges are as follows: Anwar Ali, Sharif Ahmad, Mohammad Yaqoob Khattak, Salim Jan, Azharul Habib, Khalil Khan Khalil, Zafar Iqbal, Kausar Abbas Zaidi and Shaiber Khan.

A total of 23 senior civil judges were promoted to the post of additional district and sessions judges in BPS-19. The promoted officers are as follows: Syed Asghar Ali Shah, Syed Kamal Hussain Shah, Ehsanullah Khan Mehsud, Aurangzeb Khalil, Syed Aqeel Shah Ajiz, Ashfaque Taj, Sohail Sheraz Noor Sani, Jehanzeb Shinwari, Mrs Muneera Abbasi, Syed Anees Badshah Bukhari, Aamer Nazir Bhatti, Rozina Rehman, Asad Hameed Bangash, Mohammad Naseem Khan, Tahir Mehmood, Wajid Ali, Aftab Afridi, Mohammad Arshad, Safiullah Jan, Asghar Shah Khilji, Jehangir Khan, Naeem Iqbal and Fazal Sattar.

Moreover, 27 civil judges were promoted to the post of senior civil judges in BPS-18. The judges are as follows: Syed Asghar Ali Shah (with effect from Aug 16, 2001), Aamer Nazir Bhatti, Qaiser Raheem, Khalid Khan Mohmand, Altafur Rehman, Liaqat Ali, Azhar Ali, Kulsoom Azam, Amjad Zia Siddiqui, Haq Nawaz Khan, Ambreen Naveed, Amjad Makhdoom, Riffat Aamir, Mohammad Azam Khan, Inamullah Wazir, Abid Sarwar, Phool Bibi, Haq Nawaz Swathi, Abdul Baseer, Ajmal Khan Wazir, Malik Amjad Raheem, Manzoor Qadir Mohmand, Rashid Nadeem, Sadia Arshad, Mohsin Ali Turk, Nadeem Mohammad and Mohammad Shoaib.

Twelve district and sessions judges have been transferred to other stations. The Peshawar district and sessions judge Shahjehan Khan Akhundzada has been transferred to Kohat in place of Syed Yahya Zahid Gillani who has been transferred to Mardan. The D. I. Khan district and sessions judge Syed Mussadiq Hussain Gillani has been posted at Peshawar. He would be replaced by the Tank district and sessions judge, Mohammad Safdar Khan. The Hangu district and sessions judge Ghulam Mohyuddin Malik and the Charsada district and sessions judge, Subhan Sher, have replaced each other.

The Swabi district and sessions judge, Khalid Amin Khan, has been transferred to Mansehra in place of Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, who has been posted as officer on special duty at the high court. The district and sessions judges of Lower and Upper districts, Mohammad Azim Khan and Pir Bakhsh Shah respectively, have been transferred to Swabi and Malakand.

Similarly, the Batagram district and sessions judge, Syed Qabool Shah, has been transferred to Shangla in place of Azar Khan Naseem who has been posted at Kohistan.

The promoted officers have also been posted at different districts as district and sessions judges. These officers included Anwar Ali at Upper Dir, Salim Jan at Lower Dir, Azharul Habib at Buner, Khalil Khan Khalil at Chitral and Zafar Iqbal at Tank.

The Peshawar additional district and sessions judge, Shahid Khan, has been transferred and posted as additional registrar of the high court at Abbotabad.
