LAHORE, Sept 14: The government will establish an effective system for pursuing under-trial cases and appeals against the provincial departments and special cells would be set up for this purpose in all departments.
This was stated at a meeting presided over by chief secretary Salman Siddique here on Thursday.
The meeting was told that due to lack of proper and timely pursuance of cases, a number of them were decided unilaterally. Therefore, it was necessary that all departments should evolve a proper system of following the cases in courts.
The chief secretary directed that all departments should inform the government about their requirements in this regard. Besides setting up of litigation cells, litigation officers should also be appointed so that departments could meet legal demands. —Staff Reporter
