ISLAMABAD, Sept 12: The government has banned a student organisation for publishing and distributing hate material in the country, a source in interior ministry told Dawn on Tuesday.
According to a notification of the ministry issued on August 21, the Jhang-based Islamic Students Movement of Pakistan (ISMP) has been banned.
The law enforcement agencies have also sealed the offices of the organisation, an offshoot of the banned sectarian outfit, Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP).
The source said the law enforcement agencies had confiscated hate material from the offices of the organisation.
The ISMP has been accused of spreading hate material in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab provinces.— Staff Reporter
