BAHAWALPUR, Sept 11: The nine-hour power outage starting on Sunday night made life miserable for the residents of at least twenty housing colonies here on Monday. Thousands of people, including children, students and patients, in the affected localities spent sleepless night in the muggy weather continuing in the area for the last two weeks.
The outage, which started at 11.30pm and continued till 8.30am adversely affected the office-going people and students.
The most agonizing aspect of the situation was that neither the Mepco complaint number, nor the Baghdad grid station telephone responded to the troubled consumers’ calls.
Mepco executive engineer concerned said the power restoration was delayed because the staff could not detect the fault responsible for the outage
