LAKKI MARWAT: Two held for drug smuggling

LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 10: Two alleged drug smugglers were arrested and 8.5 kilogrammes of hashish was seized here on Sunday, police said. A party of Darra Pezu police station, assisted by Frontier Constabulary personnel, blocked the Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan road after receiving information that narcotics would be smuggled to Punjab.

The police stopped a pick-up and on checking found 8.5 kg hashish in the vehicle.

The accused, Mir Janan and Mir Khan, both belonging to the Bhettani tribe, were arrested.

DRIVER LOOTED: Robbers deprived the driver of a trailer of cellphone and cash in the Serai Naurang area, police sources told this correspondent on Sunday.

Driver Safiullah told the police that six bandits forced him to stop his trailer at gunpoint and snatched his mobile phone and cash.
