ISLAMABAD, Sept 8: Civil society organisations have criticised the government policies on amendment process of Hudood laws. In a statement issued here on Friday, ActionAid-Pakistan, Aurat Foundation, Sungi Development Foundation, Pattan Development Organisation, and Rozan lamented that all recommendations made by the National Commission on the Status of Women, the Inquiry Commission on Women, and the government- appointed select committee had no value, and an endorsement had to be sought from the MMA. Even the attorney general had been sidelined. How long would this political bargaining at the cost of women’s basic rights and justice go on?
