KARACHI, Sept 7: The 35th Karachi Table Tennis Championship will throw new champions in all categories besides heralding a new era for the sport as KTTA embarks on a journey to regain lost pride at Islamia Club on Friday.
Approximately 200 contestants including many women players have enrolled for different events after the newly installed KTTA hurriedly announced the event to put the game on the right track.
Karachi players have virtually dominated the game in the country for decades, taking it to sixth spot in Asia after China, South and North Koreas, Japan and Taipei.
The events to be contested include men’s and women’s team events, men’s and women’s singles, juniors U-18 boys and girls singles, cadet U-15 boys and girls singles and men’s and women’s doubles.

Cadet U-15 singles (first round) 3.00pm.
