KHAR, Sept 6: A 12-year-old girl was killed when the houses of two pro-government tribal elders were damaged in missile attacks in Mamond subdivision on Tuesday night.

Witnesses said assailants fired two missiles at the house of Malik Ajab Khan in Kagga village near the Afghan border, killing his daughter Jahira Bibi and damaging the house.

The house of Agency Councillor Malik Fazal Mabood was hit with two missiles in Landi village. A wall of the house was damaged.

Mamond Political Tehsildar Javedullah Khan Mahsud told Dawn that the missiles had been fired from the mountains near the villages.
