ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: The ministry of water and power on Wednesday signed an agreement with Orient power company to set up a 225MW thermal power station at Balakot.

Water and Power Minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi said the government was making all out efforts to induct more power into the system to support rapid economic development in the country. All options are being looked into to produce more electricity, he added.

Orient chief executive Nadeem Babar said the ministry had facilitated the company to resolve outstanding issues enabling it to sign the agreement.—Online
