JACOBABAD, Sept 4: Sindh National Front chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has condemned the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti and termed it an act of shame. He was talking to reporters at the residence of Akram Abro, member of central executive committee of the front, here on Monday.

Commenting on the Balochistan situation, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto said there was an indirect governor’s rule in the province.

The British had been cruel, but they had taken care of the rights of local people. They ensured justice and peace, but now the rights of common people were not safe and corruption was increasing every day, he added.

In the interiors of Sindh, he said, there was the rule of landlords and in Karachi that of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

He said that Sindhis were in more trouble than the Baloch because Sindh was rich in minerals and natural gas, but Sindhis were very poor.

He said that in this particular situation, Sindhis were with their Baloch brothers.

Referring to resignations of parliamentarians of the Balochistan National Party, he said they had taken a bold step in the face of violation of the rights of the people in the country by the government.

He said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and Alliance for the Restoration for Democracy were saying that they would submit resignations, but they had not taken the step.

The military, he said, could not continue its rule over the country with the only support of landlords and corrupt people of society.

He said that without participation of common people, there would be no good governance in the country.
