Case against ruling party man, four others

SAHIWAL, Sept 2: Police registered a case against Kamir PML vice-president and his four accomplices for injuring their two opponents.

Former union council nazim and vice-president Khurshid Gujjar had a political enmity with Abdullah since the last election. Abdullah and his brother Abdul Rashid were going to Kamir when accused Waheed Murad, Hafizullah, Muhammad Salim and Noor Ahmad, at the behest of Khurshid, opened fire on them and injured them seriously.

FRAUD CASE: The city police registered on Saturday a fraud case on a court’s order after more than five months.

On March 9, accused Muhammad Sharif with his accomplice Javed Salim of Rawalpindi and Muhammad Yunas collected Rs180,000 from Naeem for providing his Malaysian visa. The accused failed to give him visa on which Naeem approached the police for the registration of a case but the police did not entertain him.

His maternal uncle Mahmood Husain filed a writ petition in the court of additional district and session judge.

CONVENTION: The commission agents of Punjab grain markets will hold a convention here on Sunday.

Commission agents’ association spokesman Mian Ziaul Haq said they would deliberate on the problems being faced by them, including imposition of withholding tax, etc.

They would also decide to launch a protest movement for acceptance of their demand.
