ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday invited Talal Bugti, the son of late Nawab Akbar Bugti, to attend a public meeting being organised by the combined opposition parties in Lahore on September 10.

The invitation to Talal Bugti was extended by PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif during a telephonic conversation, party information secretary Ahsan Iqbal told Dawn.

Mr Iqbal expressed the hope that Talal Bugti would speak at the public meeting being arranged to condemn the killing of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawab Akbar Bugti during a military operation in Kohlu.

He termed the burial of late Bugti without the participation of his family members an “inhuman and immoral” act of the rulers. He said it was a fascist tactic of the military rulers. He also thanked the people of Pakistan for making the Friday’s strike a ‘success’ to show solidarity with the people of Balochistan.

Mr Iqbal said opposition’s vote of no-confidence motion had exposed the mega scandals of the regime and shown to the people that the government had no defence. It also showed that there was complete unity in the ranks of the opposition parties. He said the agenda of the Musharraf regime was excursion at tax payers’ money, therefore, both president and prime minister were competing to undertake maximum foreign trips.
