SUKKUR, Aug 30: The headmistress of a school has appealed to the president and the prime minister for protection. Ms Naureen Mirza, of the local Saint Savior’s High School, who has been forcibly removed from her post, has claimed that some people have occupied her school and violated the sanctity of the institution and her removal is not justified.
A day earlier, some people opposed took over the possession of the school with the help of police and law-enforcement personnel.
Ms Naureen, speaking at a press conference at the Sukkur Press Club on Wednesday, said in choked voice that she was the daughter of a priest and widow. She complained of harassment and appealed for protection and an inquiry into the matter.
SHOT DEAD: Some armed persons intercepted a passenger wagon near Rustam link road, boarded it, identified Khair Muhammad Mahar and shot him dead.
The cause of the killing was not ascertained.
