Nadra birth certificate project

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 30: National Database and Registration Authority will launch a pilot project for registration and issuance of computerised birth certificates of children in the district.

This was stated by Multan region Nadra director-general Muhammed Latif in a briefing to district nazim Tariq Cheema at local circuit house here on Wednesday.

The DG said a memorandum of understanding to the effect would be signed between Nadra and the district government. The latter would provide accommodation along with computers and printers for the purpose. The system, he said, would help overcome the bogus, wrong and incorrect birth entries at UC level.

He said UC secretaries would be imparted training to operate the system. He said there would be free registration for the first 60 days of the birth of child. Thereafter, fee ranging from Rs50 to Rs200 would be charged in accordance with the delayed period.
