ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: MNAs from both the treasury and the opposition benches at a traders convention here on Monday stressed that tenants should be provided full security and tenancy rights.

The convention had been organised by the Tenant Association Islamabad. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Sher Afghan Khan Niazi said the government wanted to solve problems of traders and did not believe in opposition for the sake of opposition.

He said when some opposition MNAs presented a bill seeking security and protection for tenants, he did not oppose it and, forthwith, sent it to the committee concerned of the interior ministry.

Mr Afghan said they would not oppose any bill presented by the opposition which was related to the welfare and prosperity of the masses.
