HYDERABAD: Hundreds of books gutted

HYDERABAD, Aug 21: Hundreds of valuable books were destroyed when a fire believed to have been caused by electrical short circuit engulfed the institute of mathematics and computer science of the Sindh University on Sunday evening. VC Mazharul Haq Siddiqui appointed a two-member committee to conduct an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire and to fix responsibility on account of negligence, if any. The committee will submit report to the vice chancellor within three days.—Bureau
