BERLIN, Aug 19: Murat Kurnaz, a German-born Turk held for about four years at Guantanamo Bay, will soon be released by the US authorities, his lawyer said. Bernhard Docke said he expected his client, nicknamed the “Taliban of Bremen”, to be freed this month but had been given “no firm date” for his release. US forces arrested Kurnaz in early 2002 in Pakistan.—AFP
