MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 17: AJK Minister for Rehabilitation and Civil Defence Sanaullah Qadri has directed the officials concerned to initiate work within one week to overcome the shortage of potable water in a Kashmiri refugees’ camp on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad.
During a visit to Manik Pehan camp No1 on Thursday, the minister was informed by migrants that one they were facing shortage of clean water.
He said the department concerned should initiate work on a scheme, whereby a pipeline around 3,500 feet long has to be laid, to ensure adequate water supply in the camp, within a week.
The minister said two water tanks, each having a storage capacity of 5,000 gallons, should be installed in the camp.
