DHAKA, Aug 17: Bangla poet Shamsur Rahman died here on Thursday. He was 77.

With more than 60 collections of poems to his credit, Rahman suffered old-age complications, including failure of several organs. He had been on life support for cardiac and respiratorydisorders for a week. He was born on Oct 24, 1929, at Dhaka.
