PESHAWAR, Aug 16: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested at the Peshawar airport of passenger who was attempting to board a flight on forged visa, an official said.
Nasir Khan, of Takhatbhai area of the Mardan district, presented his passport HR-4106701, computerised national identity card and return-ticket from Peshawar to London via Abu Dhabi to immigration authorities at the airport, said FIA Assistant Director (Immigration) Inamullah Khan Gandapur.
On suspicion, the passenger was not allowed to get the boarding card and was kept sitting at the FIA’s office for interrogation, said the official.
The FIA contacted the British High Commission in Islamabad and it confirmed that the visa sticker on the passenger’s passport was bogus, he added.
During interrogation, Nasir Khan told interrogators that he had paid Rs32,000 to one Aurangzeb having his office on Kachehri road in Mardan city.
