DERA GHAZI KHAN, Aug 15: Thirty people, including two officials of the border military police, were booked on charge of storming a BMP police station in Fort Munro, a hill station in tribal area 85 kms from here.
According to reports reaching here, BMP officer Atique Khetran, who was in civvies, reportedly scuffled with some visitors to the hill station on Monday evening.
On Khetran’s report, Fort Munro BMP incharge arrested Shukat, Ayub and Muhammed Khan and booked them on the charge of assaulting the BMP officer.
In reaction, 30 people stormed the police station to get the accused freed. Among the assailants were two BMP officials Haji Musa and Zafar. They succeeded in freeing Shaukat.
The BMP booked the assailants under the relevant law.
Political assistant to tribal area Naeemullah told Dawn on Tuesday that the situation was now under control. Two BMP officials were suspended from services.
