KARACHI, Aug 12: Sindh Chief Secretary Fazalur Rehman has directed the officials concerned to adopt mechanized monitoring system for effective and timely implementation of the projects under works and services departments.
He was presiding over a meeting held to review the development schemes of education department on Saturday.
Secretary Education Ghulam Ali Pasha presented a report about the progress of construction of educational institutions.
In the meeting, emphasis was laid in quality civil work concerning 283 colleges keeping the rules and regulations in view.
Special Secretary Finance Shoaib Siddiqi informed the meeting that funds for works to be completed till June 30, 2007 had been released and funds for ongoing schemes were being released phase-wise.
Chief Engineer (Buildings) Sain Dad Solangi suggested that the chief engineer monitoring at Hyderabad should be made functional so that the problems being faced in relation to ongoing schemes in the districts were solved and timely completion of such projects could be ensured.
It was decided that finance department would issue notification as per rules and regulations for enforcement of monitoring system and submit a report thereof next week. The chief secretary also sought a report about SNEs of all new schemes.—APP/PPI
